Join us for our joint official Parallel Event at UNCTAD16 on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, from 3.00-4.30 PM CET, in Concordia 1, Palais des Nations

We are proud to co-organize, together with our partners at UN Trade and Development (UNCTAD), a parallel event at the 16th session of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD16):

Reshaping progress: Moving beyond GDP for inclusive and sustainable transformation
21 October 2025, 3.00–4:30 PM CET
Concordia 1, Palais des Nations, Geneva, Switzerland

Participants at this co-organized event will be invited to engage with the UN Secretary-General’s High-Level Expert Group on the Beyond GDP, jointly supported by UNCTAD, the Department of Economic and Social Affairs, the United Nations Development Programme, and the Executive Office of the Secretary-General.

The event will open with remarks from the UNCTAD Secretary-General. Through two panel discussions, moderated by the Beyond Lab, participants will explore how new metrics can:

  • Build a renewed development narrative rooted in global solidarity and ecological stewardship;
  • Drive economic transformation for inclusive, equitable and sustainable development;
  • Better reflect the realities and priorities of developing and least developed countries;
  • Inform national planning and budgeting to achieve long-term resilience.

This dialogue aims to shape a new vision of progress, making the “invisible” visible in policy decisions and advancing a transformative agenda for current and future generations.
