Originally from Luxembourg, Charline brings to the Beyond Lab a deep curiosity for the intersection between psychology, behaviour, and sustainability. With a background in cognitive and behavioural science, she explores how emotions, mindsets, and subtle cues shape the way individuals and groups engage with global challenges.

Her academic path has taken her from the study of cognition and decision-making at Erasmus University Rotterdam to her current Master’s in Sustainable Development and Psychology at the University of Geneva. Across her research, she has focused on how behavioural insights can be applied to foster more sustainable and cooperative choices in real-world contexts.

At the Beyond Lab, she is contributing to the exploration of one of the Beyond’s : constructive hope — understanding what it looks like inaction and how it can influence negotiation dynamics and outcomes. She is particularly interested in how emotional and cognitive factors can be leveraged to turn uncertainty into collaboration, and disagreement into progress.

Driven by both scientific rigor and empathy, she seeks to bridge research and practice — translating behavioural insights into tools that inspire collective action andlong-term sustainability.

Curious to connect with Charline?

Here is a list of 3 questions she seeks to answer within the Beyond Lab:

  • How can constructive hope shape the way people negotiate, collaborate, and envision shared futures?
  • What role can  behavioural science play in creating more cooperative and future-oriented decision-making environments?
  • How can emotions be harnessed as catalysts for sustainable change rather than barriers to it?
