"Sustainability is a journey shaped by voices and visions, where storytelling bridges divides and turns dialogue into action."
Yaxian is completing her Bachelor’s degree at Communication University of Zhejiang, majoring in Broadcasting and Hosting Art with a concentration in New Media. Her academic journey has immersed her in the dynamics of bilingual communication, international relations, and media strategy - laying a strong foundation for engaging global audiences on pressing issues.
Her professional path has spanned diverse fields - from serving as an English announcer at the 19th Asian Games and working as a bilingual journalist at Xinhua News Agency, to co-founding a social platform for young returnees and leading partnerships with international organizations. These experiences have shaped her belief in the power of media and communication to connect people across sectors and cultures, and to inspire collective action toward meaningful change.
She has also contributed to projects at the intersection of technology, youth engagement, and sustainability - such as supporting the Nordic Carbon Neutrality Council in summit planning and partnership development - which deepened her interest in how innovative communication and cross-cultural strategies can advance sustainable development goals.
At the Beyond Lab, she hopes to bring her interdisciplinary background in media, event coordination, and cross-sector collaboration to support communications, community engagement, and the co-creation of inclusive initiatives. She looks forward to helping foster a collaborative space where creative ideas are transformed into tangible solutions for a sustainable future.
